Louise has 9 years experience within the industry and is the owner of the two sister salons 'I Makeup Glasgow' & 'Nude Nail And Beauty Bar'.
"I love making my clients feel beautiful and confident".
Louise loves doing makeup, from special occasion makeup, to creative, editorial and weddings.
Louise's approach to makeup is that every client and every situation is different. She likes to listen to her clients and get a clear understanding of who they are and what look will not only be suited to them but that they will feel comfortable and completely confident in.
"We are all different and want different things from our makeup application. I feel that listening to my clients is the most important part about my job. It allows me to make their makeup totally bespoke to them as an individual. And is something that my team feel is equally important about the art of makeup! I think this is why my clients trust me. I have clients now who have been coming to me for years that basically say do what you think, I trust you. And that to me is amazing, I love that!".
Louise has been nominated for Bridal Specialist of the year in 2019 and nominated for makeup salon of the year for 2 years in a row in 2018 & 2019. She has been published in one of the leading bridal magazines 'Tie the Knot Scotland'. And was an exhabitioner at the Scottish Wedding Show.
Art has been in Louise's veins since she was a young girl. During her years at high school she attended weekend courses at 'The Glasgow School of Art'. Fine art and drawing & painting were where she excelled. After leaving school she set off to study Interior Design, however she felt this wasn't the career path for her. Louise then went on to study the art of Photography. This was a huge passion of hers that lead to the love of makeup! Makeup caught her interest when doing shoots. It was something to add to her creativity and allowed her to have creative control at both ends of the lens -"It also gave me the chance to get paint brushes back in my hands". Being Louise she done her research and decided to learn beauty as well as makeup and so she went on to study HND Beauty Therapy, learning all beauty and holistic treatments, learning in depth about the anatomy and of course learning all about makeup!
Throughout her time study Beauty Therapy her obsession with makeup grew further. "I would find myself up to 3 am searching makeup looks and researching products. I just loved everything about makeup and wanted to learn everything I could about it, to the point that my makeup lecturer would ask me about new products because I had researched the life out of everything".
Once she had qualified, Louise went on to freelancing and renting chairs, until 2017 when she opened a studio in Glasgow City Center until 2019 when Louise then became co owner of Nude Nail and Beauty bar and moved under the one roof. Once becoming full owner at the end of that year she then decided to created sister brands and I Makeup Glasgow was then born in 2020.
